There’s something magical happening in our studio this month. We kicked off our Master Artist Series by studying the life and work of Claude Monet, one of history’s most beloved Impressionist painters.

Our students dove deep into Monet’s world — exploring his masterpieces, observing his use of color and light, and learning how he captured emotion through brushstrokes that feel alive. We didn’t rush through it; we really took our time to get to know this artist, to appreciate his vision, and to understand why his work continues to inspire generations of creators.

Through hands-on lessons, our students learned to capture light, movement, and feeling in their own artwork — just as Monet once did while painting in his blooming gardens at Giverny. But this isn’t about copying a famous artist. It’s about learning to see the world differently — to notice the way sunlight dances on water or how a few expressive strokes can bring a whole scene to life.

Each week, our students grow a little bolder — experimenting with new color combinations, layering techniques, and ways to express what they feel instead of what they simply see. And as teachers, we get to witness that special moment when a child steps back from their work and says with pride, “Wow, I made that.”

To keep the learning going at home, we’ve created a fun printable about Claude Monet — filled with quick, interesting facts and discussion prompts you can enjoy with your child. It’s a great way to connect, learn, and spark more curiosity about art together.
